Cape Town - A tip-off led officers to a stash of pure cocaine in a hotel room in central Cape Town, police said on Wednesday.

The drugs were uncovered on Tuesday afternoon in the kitchen cupboard of a room, situated on the corner of Long and Pepper Street, said Cape Town central police spokesperson Captain Ezra October.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of R600 000, were stored in eight small plastic packets, within a black bag.

October said no arrests had yet been made and that their investigation was continuing.
