Durban – A cyclist was killed in an alleged hit and run in Ladysmith on Thursday evening, Kwazulu Natal paramedics said.

The man, believed to be in his thirties, had been cycling on a gravel road, said ER24 spokesperson Annine Siddall.

Paramedics found him in a critical condition at around 18:00 and immediately started cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

He was transported to Ladysmith Provincial Hospital and declared dead after CPR was terminated.

Police would investigate the circumstances of his death.
