Polokwane – Police have arrested a 25-year-old man after the discovery of a dagga plantation, with an estimated value of R250 000, near his shack outside Louis Trichardt, Limpopo, on Tuesday. 

Constable Tshifhiwa Radzilane said the man was believed to be from the North West. 

His shack was situated on top of a mountain in Waterval, outside Louis Trichardt in Limpopo.

Radzilane said police uprooted 1 159 dagga plants, which weighed 70kg. 

The man has been charged with the cultivation of dagga and is expected to appear in the Waterval Magistrate's Court soon.
