Durban – A minibus taxi driver was killed, and his passengers injured, after he apparently lost control of his vehicle at high speed, paramedics said on Sunday.

Eyewitnesses reported that the taxi was speeding along the M27 in Durban on Saturday night before it tumbled down an embankment, said Crisis Medical spokesperson Neil Powell.

Paramedics found the taxi on its side, and passengers with mild to severe injuries. They were rushed to hospital.
