Johannesburg - A man has been killed after his car crashed into a barrier and a bakkie in Vanderbijlpark, paramedics said on Sunday.

Paramedics found both his car and the bakkie in the middle of Vaal Road on Saturday evening, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

The man’s body was found underneath the bakkie.

It is believed he lost control of his car, and was thrown from the vehicle after crashing into a bridge barrier, Meiring said.

The unoccupied car then crashed into the oncoming bakkie. The occupants of the bakkie escaped uninjured.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, Meiring added.
