Cape Town – What started off with Hawks officers finding drugs concealed in biscuit packets led to a R2m haul of drugs and suspected stolen goods in Cape Town.

Officers on a sting operation pulled over and arrested a man in Adderley Street during rush hour on Wednesday, Western Cape Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Lloyd Ramovha said on Thursday.

In his car, they found Mandrax tablets and several sachets of tik in biscuit packets. At the 43-year-old’s house in Heathfield, they found cocaine, tik, and dagga.

Officers seized about R500 000 in American, Nigerian and South African bank notes. Brand new cellphones, some still in their original packaging, were confiscated, along with two other vehicles.

The man was expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
