Durban businessman's alleged killers to apply for bail

2016-08-15 16:22

Durban - Four men accused of the brutal slaying of Durban businessman Hoosen Dhoda are expected to apply for bail during their next court appearance.

eThekwini Metro police officer Sandile Dlamini and his co-accused - Sipho Mbele, Bonokwakhe Magubane and Ayanda Dlamini - appeared together in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Dhoda was gunned down after a group of men stormed into the Royal Travel Agency in Problem Mkhize (Cowey) Road in an apparent armed robbery two weeks ago.

During the course of the robbery, Dhoda was shot repeatedly and died at the scene as a result of his wounds.

A crack team of police officers and investigators that was assembled following the killing managed to track down the four suspects and arrest them.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara confirmed that the suspects had made a brief appearance.

The case was postponed until August 26 when they are expected to apply for bail.
