Eastern Cape man arrested in connection with murder

King William's Town – Police in the Eastern Cape arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a murder at the weekend.

Captain Jackson Manatha of the Ngqamakhwe police said the victim was 23-year-old Siphuxolo Vena.

"The victim had stab wounds on his upper body and it is believed that he died instantly," Manatha said.

The incident happened at Nobanda village in Ngqamakhwe on Friday.

Ncedo Jonas, the accused, appeared in the Ngqamakhwe Magistrate's Court earlier on Monday on a murder charge. The case has been postponed until December 21 for a formal bail application.
