King Williams Town - A 51-year-old school principal appeared in the Ngqamakhwe Magistrate's Court on Monday, charged with raping a 13-year-old school pupil, Eastern Cape police said.

He was denied bail and the case was postponed to Wednesday, Captain Jackson Manatha said.

He allegedly raped the girl several times between March and July, and was arrested on July 27.
