Johannesburg - The man accused of killing Top Billing presenter Simba Mhere and his friend Kady-Shay O'Bryan in a car crash appeared briefly at the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Preshalin Naidoo faces two counts of culpable homicide and additional charges of reckless or negligent driving and inconsiderate driving.

He appeared in court dressed in a fitted grey designer suit, accompanied a group of people presumed to be his family and friends.

The court heard that experts who were due to testify on Wednesday would only arrive in Johannesburg on Thursday.

The matter was postponed to February 9. On Tuesday, the court rejected Naidoo's lawyer's application to dismiss the charges.

Naidoo's VW Polo GTI crashed into Mhere's car on William Nicol Drive, Fourways, in the early hours of January 31, 2015. Mhere's father Joseph was also a passenger in the car. He survived.
