Fire destroys 30 shacks in Durban

Durban – Several people were left homeless when a fire destroyed 30 shacks in Kenville, Durban, on Friday evening, paramedics said.

Nobody was killed or injured and the cause of the blaze was unknown, Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said.

It took firefighters at least two hours to extinguish it. Those affected would be accommodated at a local community hall.
