Fisherman drowns in Richards Bay

Durban - A Richards Bay fisherman drowned after falling into the sea on Thursday, the NSRI said.

Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said fellow anglers raised the alarm after the 59-year-old fell between the dolosse on the South Pier around 7am.

The NSRI Richards Bay dispatched a sea rescue vehicle with NSRI rescue crew. Police divers, the City of uMhlathuze Fire and Rescue Services, and IPSS Ambulance and Rescue Services responded.

His body was recovered from between the dolosse. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene.
