A driver was arrested in Vredenburg while driving 174km/h in a 120km/h zone.

Alcohol blitz roadblocks were held across the province, where 1 374 drivers were tested, Africa said.

The highest "alcohol breath" reading was in Somerset West, where a driver was found to be three times over the legal limit, at 0.93mg of alcohol/1 000ml of breath.
