Johannesburg – Kagiso police say they are searching for two unknown gunmen who opened fire on a group of friends at a bus stop near Roodepoort, west of Johannesburg on Friday.

Captain Solomon Sibiya said the two men, who were travelling in a white car, approached the four men waiting for a taxi at the corner of the R41 and Impala Road on Friday evening.

One of the men was armed.

Sibiya said the car stopped next to the group and an armed man opened fire.

One of the men was shot in the left leg, while the three others fled.

The injured man was rushed to hospital.

The motive for the shooting was not yet known.
