Johannesburg – The Hawks have called for the public to assist with any information relating to the multi-million rand armed robbery at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday night."This is a serious matter and, as the Hawks, we will put out all stops to uncover the truth behind this weird robbery," Lieutenant General Mthandazo Ntlemeza said in a statement on Wednesday.The airport is a National Key point and its safety is of paramount importance, he said.High placed sources told News24 on Tuesday that people in a marked police vehicle intercepted an amount equal to R24m after a SAA flight landed at the airport. The vehicle is believed to have gained access through the airport's parking bay.The vehicle was later found with several empty boxes which held the cash.
