Pretoria – The High Court in Pretoria is on Wednesday expected to hear an application by the Helen Suzman Foundation to stop the SABC from implementing its decision to censor the reporting of protests.

The application is against the SABC, its board, COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng and Communications Minister Faith Muthambi.

The broadcasting regulator held a public hearing on June 24 following complaints about censorship at the SABC.

However, Motsoeneng and his board vowed that they would challenge Icasa's decision. Nobody had the right to tell them how to do their jobs, he said.
