Johannesburg - Police and farm watch personnel are combing the area of Vaalbank, near Bronkhorstspruit, for a gang of men who attacked a woman in her home on Wednesday night.

The woman, a domestic worker who lived on one of the farms, was in her house when the armed men burst through the door and assaulted her, AfriForum’s head of community safety, Ian Cameron, told News24 on Thursday.

“She was alone in her own house on the farm and she was attacked by eight armed men. At this stage we don’t know what was taken in the attack.

“The attackers fled on foot and we think they may still be in the area and we have two farm watches in the area searching for them.”

He said the eight men were known criminals in the area.

This is a developing story.
