Racism hits the headlines. Again.

Racism reared its ugly head in the headlines yet again on Wednesday with one apology and one refusal to back down. Rivers Church’s Pastor Andre Olivier apologised for what he called his poorly worded sermon delivered on Sunday morning in Sandton.

Sodwana Bay guesthouse owner Andre Slade, however, went in the opposite direction, sticking to his claims that the Bible states that people of different races must be kept separate and that black people are less intelligent than white people. About 2 000 ANCYL members and supporters protested outside his property on Wednesday morning and charges have been filed against Slade.

All about elections

More than twice as many parties are planning to contest the local government elections this year compared to five years ago.

The IEC also says it has not identified any no-go areas for elections day, and is working with security agencies to ensure the situation remains that way.
And lastly in election news, the ANC says it will investigate the vandalism of its campaign posters in Fish Hoek and "close the fence on such hooligans".

Global Muslim body condemns Istanbul attack

In international news, the world's largest body of Muslim-majority nations has condemned the terrorist attack on Istanbul's international airport that killed at least 41 people and wounded hundreds.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack but Turkey’s government has blamed Islamic State.

Former Proteas allrounder Albie Morkel, has labelled criticism aimed at discrediting AB de Villiers and his brother, Morné Morkel as unfair.

Jub Jub rubbishes Kelly Khumalo's abuse allegations

Jub Jub’s legal team have responded to Kelly Khumalo’s abuse claims, saying that their client denies these allegations. During a recent interview with MTV Base, Kelly Khumalo: Behind the Story, Kelly opened up about her history with drug abuse and her toxic relationship with ex-boyfriend, and rapper, Jub Jub.

Jub Jub's legal team has since slammed Kelly's claims, saying their client denied her abuse allegations, adding that they would oppose the restraining order, if launched.  Kelly seems to be unfazed by Jub Jub's comments, and took to social media to remind herself to remain focused during tough times. "As soon as you start making positive changes, you will be tested, stay focused..." she wrote on Instagram.

Caitlyn Jenner and her gold medal are on the cover of Sports Illustrated

Caitlyn Jenner is on the cover of Sports Illustrated wearing her gold medal 40 years after her 1976 decathlon Olympic win. Jenner told the magazine she had a complicated relationship with the medal and had kept it in drawers and in a safe, but never on display.

In her new interview, she said her masculine body at the time disgusted her, but that being macho was the way she tried to convince herself that she wasn't really a woman.
