Ivory Park taxi owner shot and killed

2016-07-05 15:07
Johannesburg - An Ivory Park taxi owner was shot and killed by two men who were now on the run, police said on Tuesday.

The owner was collecting money from his Ivory Park Taxi Association drivers just after 6:00 on Tuesday, when he was ambushed and killed, Captain Kay Makhubele said in a statement.

The men apparently jumped out of a car, before firing on the taxi owner several times.

"He died at the scene," said Makhubele.

The men then fled in a Toyota Tazz.

Police are appealing for information from the public to help apprehend the killers.
