That’s what Charlene Helberg posted on the Facebook page, “Bid asb saam vir Jayden Helberg” (Please pray for Jayden Helberg).

The page was created shortly after little Jayden (3) was seriously injured at his daycare on 23 November, after a cement sink somehow fell off the wall.

He was rushed to hospital and into surgery that same day. Doctors initially thought that there was damage to Jayden’s spleen, stomach and lungs. Fortunately, his injuries weren’t as severe as that and only one rib bone was broken.

Jayden’s parents, Charlene (29) and Werner Helberg (33), share updates on their son’s progress on the Facebook page. Prayers and well wishes for the little one have been streaming in since the incident.

Jayden, which means “God was listening” in Hebrew, is progressing well and getting stronger.

“Thank you Lord. Jayden, mommy is sooo proud of you my beautiful boy,” Charlene shared on Tuesday. “More and more pipes are being removed. The doctor says it’s not necessary anymore.”

“The catheter was removed this morning. The intravenous feeding is going to be reduced. He is still on oxygen but we are positive and know that it is temporary. We are trusting and believing.”

On the same day, about four hours before the incident, his great-grandfather Willie Burger (82) passed away.
