Joburg mechanic crushed to death by falling vehicle

Johannesburg - A mechanic has died after a vehicle he was working on fell on top of him in Weltevreden Park, in Johannesburg on Wednesday, paramedics said.

"The mechanic was working on the vehicle when the support collapsed and pinned him against the floor," Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said.

She said that when paramedics arrived on scene, they found the mechanic under the vehicle. He had already died of his extensive injuries and he was declared dead on the scene.

Mathe said the incident happened at about 16:45 on Wednesday.
