KZN man shot dead in robbery

Durban – Police are investigating a case of murder after a man was shot in the neck during an armed robbery in Tongaat, north of Durban, late on Wednesday evening.

The robbery, which occurred at Planters Avenue in Fairbreeze, saw a 35-year-old man shot by three suspects.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Nqobile Gwala on Thursday said the man sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injury.

"The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage. A case of murder was opened at Tongaat Police Station for investigation and no arrests have been made."
