Just days before her seven-year tenure comes to an end, Public Protector Thuli Madonsela sits down with News24's Adriaan Basson and Jerusha Raath.

Madonsela leaves office on October 15 after which Advocate Joyce Busisiwe Mkhwebane takes over from her.

Just this week, Madonsela called President Jacob Zuma to heel, and appealed to him to answer questions posed in her probe into state capture. This after Zuma asked to see the evidence gathered in her probe on Monday.

Earlier this year, the saga over Nkandla finally came to an end after the Constitutional Court found that Zuma failed in his duties as president to abide by the protector's ruling to pay for non-security upgrades at the KZN residence.

In her period as protector, Madonsela has also taken on the SABC's Hlaudi Motsoeneng, the Post Office and Western Cape Premier Helen Zille.
