Cape Town - Lottery operator Ithuba Holdings has appealed for the owner of a lottery ticket that won a R19m jackpot to come forward before the winnings are forfeited.

The winning ticket was bought at The Pie Train shop in Isipingo, Durban, in July 2016.

It was the only ticket to match five numbers in the PowerBall PLUS game on Friday July 29, 2016, bagging a lucky buyer a total of R19 292 600.

The winner now has only four days left to claim the prize, and Ithuba said he or she may not have realised that they won.

"In case the winnings are not claimed this coming Saturday, the R19.2m will be forfeited and be retained by the National Lotteries Distribution Trust Fund. Winners have one year to claim their winnings in accordance with the National Lottery terms and conditions," said Ithuba in a statement on Wednesday morning.

The ticket holder is not the only lottery winner who has failed to claimed his or her prize.

Ithuba Holdings said that the winner of a LOTTO Jackpot of R15m in December, and a PowerBall PLUS Jackpot of R21m in June 2017 are also yet to come forward. These winners, at least have months left before the winnings are forfeited.
