Kagiso - A 29-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged murder of another resident at the Boiketlo hostel in Kagiso, police said on Tuesday.

Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said police officers were conducting sector duties when they received a complaint about a murder at the hostel.

They found the man lying on his back in bed, with stab wounds to his chest.

Sibiya said police had received information from an anonymous caller regarding the suspect’s whereabouts.

Police had followed up on the information and arrested the suspect on Sunday.

The man appeared in the Kagiso Magistrate’s Court on Monday and his case was postponed for further investigation.

Sibiya could not confirm the date for his next appearance, but said cases like these would normally be postponed for two weeks.
