Cape Town - Butterworth police arrested a suspected drug dealer in Skiet informal settlement on Friday.

The 55-year-old man was allegedly in possession of eight kilograms of dagga and 55 Mandrax tablets, police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said.

He faces charges of dealing dagga and drugs and is expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Manatha extended the congratulations of the Butterworth Cluster Commander Brigadier Stanley Sibidla for the work of the task team that carried out the arrest in Eastern Cape.

Mandrax is a sedative, but is also mixed with dagga and smoked as a ''white pipe''.
