Johannesburg - A man has been left seriously injured when his hands got caught in a rolling machine at a Vereeniging company on Thursday, paramedics said.

When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the man, in his 30s, lying in the first aid room treated by first aiders, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

"It is believed the patient had been working on the machine when he was pulled through."

It was not clear what work the company did.

The man had serious injuries and fractures to both his upper and lower arms, Meiring said.

He was taken to Mediclinic Vereeniging for urgent treatment.
