Man dies after bakkie overturns

Durban – A 48-year-old motorist died after the bakkie he had been driving overturned in Umhlanga, north of Durban, on Wednesday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala told News24 that Durban North police were investigating a case of culpable homicide following the incident.

She said the accident occurred at about 13:00.

"It is alleged ... a Hyundai bakkie overturned in Umhlanga. A 48-year-old driver died at the scene, while three passengers were taken to hospital for medical examination."

The cause of the accident is still unknown, Gwala added.
