Mbombela - The driver of a Polo was killed in a head-on collision that took place on Graceland Road in Secunda, Mpumalanga on Friday night.

ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said paramedics arrived at around 23:00 on Friday night, and found the driver, a man believed to be in his 20s, had been killed in a collision with a bakkie.

"Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do to save the man and he was declared dead on the scene," he said.

Meiring said the driver of the bakkie, a man believed to be in his 40s, had sustained minor injuries and he was transported to Medi-Clinic Highveld for further medical care.

He said local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
