Man dragged by barbed wire for 50m behind truck

Pietermaritzburg - A man was seriously injured when he was dragged behind a truck transporting barbed wire in Pietermaritzburg on Friday, paramedics said.

In what was believed to have been a hit-and-run accident, he apparenly got caught on a piece of barbed wire hanging from the truck on Eden Park Drive, ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said.

He was dragged for about 50m before he managed to free himself. He sustained massive lacerations to his arms and legs.
