Cape Town - A man escaped unscathed when a billboard fell onto his vehicle on the Old Potch Road in Soweto on Monday.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring in a statement said paramedics arrived on scene and found the large billboard on top of a bakkie.

“Paramedics immediately rushed over and pulled the driver from his vehicle. Once out, paramedics assessed the man and found that he fortunately escaped without injury,” Meiring said.

The cause of the incident has not been confirmed, however it is believed that the heavy winds may have been a contributing factor, he added.

Authorities are investigating.
