Port Elizabeth - A friend of Springbok rugby player Johan Goosen was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after being accidentally shot while at the fullback's farm.
Armand Stoman, 25, was shot in the ankle with a hunting rifle while on Lilly Flanders farm near Aliwal North, Netwerk24 reported.
"Goosen is very traumatised after the incident and hasn't been able to explain exactly what happened," said police spokesperson Brigadier Marinda Mills.
Stoman was admitted to a Bloemfontein hospital for treatment.
Mills said there were no indications of foul play.
She added that they had been unable to take a statement from Stoman yet because he was still in a lot of pain.
