Man jumps to his death at Durban hotel

Durban – A 47-year-old man plunged to his death from the Blue Waters Hotel in North Beach, paramedics said on Wednesday.

RescueCare spokesperson Garrith Jamieson told News24 that his paramedics, together with Netcare 911, were on the scene.

"We can confirm that we declared him dead."

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said they were investigating. According to Zwane, the man jumped from the 10th floor of the hotel.

"We can confirm that Durban Centre Police Station is investigating an inquest docket which happened at Blue Waters Hotel this morning at about 11:00. A 47-year-old man jumped off from the 10th floor and died instantly. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident."
