Vereeniging – A man was killed on Friday morning after he was electrocuted working on a transformer in Langerand near Vereeniging, paramedics said.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, the man was found lying in the middle of the road with colleagues performing CPR on him, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said in a statement.

The man was found to have sustained serious burn wounds and had already succumbed to his injuries, Meiring said.

Additional information surrounding the incident was not immediately available.

Local authorities have been informed for further investigations.
