Cape Town – A man accused of killing a Cape Town metro policeman is expected to apply for bail in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court next month.

Christopher Jantjies appeared in court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 53-year-old Constable Ben Koopman.

The matter was postponed until November 8 for a bail application.

In February this year, Koopman was ambushed, allegedly by two men while walking to his official vehicle outside his home in Eerste River.

His service pistol and two-way radio were stolen.
