Man's body recovered from dam in Port St Johns

Members of the East London and Mthatha K9 police search and rescue divers have recovered the body of a man who drowned in the Bulolo Dam on Friday.

Police spokesperson, Captain Nkosikho Mzuku, said the Search and Rescue Unit officers were dispatched to the scene after people lodged a complaint that a person had drowned in the river.

Mzuku said the divers recovered the body of a 30-year-old man, and his body was handed over to the Port St Johns police.

Mzuku said it was still unclear as to how the drowning took place and said a an inquest docket had been opened.
