Cape Town – Just a day after announcing his resignation from the SABC, former news anchor Ivor Price was appointed by Media24.

Price was named as the manager for business innovation and special projects for the company’s Afrikaans newspapers.

“Ivor has been a newspaper columnist for the group’s Afrikaans newspapers and until recently presenter at RSG and news anchor at SABC2,” Media24 said in a statement.
Price started his career as a journalist at Die Burger, one of Media24’s newspapers, in 1999. He went on to join the SABC in 2010.
“I had so many opportunities to develop at [Media24] and I now look forward to take it to the next phase. I want to help develop growth opportunities,” Price said.
Barrie de Beer, general manager of Media24’s news division, said it was a pleasure to welcome Price back to Media24.

“Ivor already proved that new products and services spring from his innovative thinking. His business acumen and editorial experience will be an invaluable combination to unlock new revenue opportunities for our trusted news brands.”
