The KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board says this year's spectacle is markedly different to those seen in past years.WATCH

A memorial service for two KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board employees, who died in a boat accident last week, is expected to be held in Durban on Thursday.

The employees were conducting a net inspection in Richards Bay when the boat they had been travelling in capsized in the surf at Newark Beach.

Paramedics attempted to revive one person but were unsuccessful.

At the time, the National Sea Rescue Institue (NSRI) said two other men were transported to hospital by ambulance - both in stable conditions.

A helicopter found another body in the surf. The body of the last employee is yet to be found.

MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Mxolisi Kaunda, is expected to attend the service at the eThekwini Community Church.
