Midrand man catches fire while cutting fence with blowtorch

Johannesburg - A man died after being burnt while cutting a fence with a blowtorch and brake fluid in Rosemary Road in Midrand, Johannesburg on Thursday, paramedics said.

"Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the patient lying in a trench next to the road, his clothes still smouldering," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

The man caught alight while cutting the fence.

"On assessment, paramedics found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal burn wounds," said Meiring.
