Monday's weather: Extremely high fire danger in several parts of the country

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the western parts of the Free State, the western parts of the North West, the central and the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, and the northern interior of the Eastern Cape, according to the South African Weather Service.

The weather in your region

Gauteng and the Free State will be fine and warm.

The expected UVB sunburn index for Gauteng is very high.

In Mpumalanga and Limpopo it will be cloudy in the east at first, with morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise fine and warm to hot in Limpopo.

It will be fine and warm to hot in the North West.

The Northern Cape will experience morning fog patches along the coast, where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm to hot.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

There will be morning fog patches along the west coast of the Western Cape, otherwise partly cloudy and cool along the coast, but warm over the interior where it will be fine.

The wind along the coast will be moderate north-westerly, but light south-westerly along the south coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

It will be fine and warm in the Eastern Cape, but cool along the coast.

In KwaZulu-Natal there will be morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise fine and warm, but partly cloudy in the north-east.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.
