Monday's weather: Fire danger in Northern Cape, fine and warm for the rest of SA

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of extremely high fire danger conditions expected over the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape.

In Gauteng it will be fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

Mpumalanga will also be fine at first. Otherwise it will be partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in the Lowveld with isolated showers and thundershowers.

It will be fine at first in Limpopo, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot but very hot in places in the Lowveld, Western Bushveld and Limpopo Valley.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected except in the north.

Partly cloudy and hot conditions can be expected in the North West with isolated showers and thundershowers.

It will be fine and warm, but hot in the north-west of the Free State. Partly cloudy conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected.

In the Northern Cape it will be cloudy at first with fog patches along the coast and adjacent interior where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm to hot but very hot in the north.

It will become partly cloudy in the east with isolated showers and thundershowers in the north-east.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south- easterly.

It will be cloudy in the morning along the entire coastline and adjacent interior of the Western Cape with fog patches where it will be cool, partly cloudy and warm.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south- westerly along the south coast, otherwise moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is very high.

Fine and warm conditions can be expected in the Eastern Cape, becoming partly cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate south-westerly.

In KwaZulu-Natal there will be morning fog patches over the interior, otherwise fine warm but hot in places in the north.

It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers and thundershowers.

The wind along the coast will be moderate easterly to north-easterly becoming south easterly in the south by the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.
