Monday's weather: High fire danger conditions expected in the Northern Cape

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the central interior of the Northern Cape, according to the SA Weather Service.

The weather in your region

In Gauteng, expect fine and warm weather conditions, while in Mpumalanga it will also fine and warm but hot in the lowveld.

Limpopo and North West will be fine and warm; while the Free State will be fine and cool to warm.

Morning fog along the coast is expected in the Northern Cape. Otherwise it will be fine and warm with high level clouds. It will become partly cloudy in the evening over the southern interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly.

Expect fog along the West Coast in the Western Cape, otherwise partly cloudy becoming fine and warm to cool with high level clouds at times, but cloudy to partly cloudy along the South Coast where it will be cool with isolated light morning showers over the Overberg region and mist patches in places over the interior. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly to easterly but light and variable along the south-coast at first.

In the western half of the Eastern Cape, expect morning and evening fog patches in places in the south, otherwise fine and cool, but cloudy in the south. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly, becoming easterly in the afternoon.

The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be fine and cool, but partly cloudy south of the escarpment, where it will become cloudy with evening fog patches. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly, becoming south-easterly from late afternoon.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine and warm but cool in places over the south, becoming partly cloudy over the east in the afternoon/evening. The wind along the coast will be gentle to moderate north-easterly north of Durban otherwise moderate south-westerly, spreading northwards.
