Monday's weather: High fire danger warnings for parts of the country

The South African Weather Service has issued a warning of extremely high fire danger warning for the south-eastern parts of the Free State and Northern Cape, north-western parts of North West and the north eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.

The weather in your region

It will be partly cloudy and warm in Gauteng.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

Mpumalanga will be fine and warm, but hot to very hot over the Lowveld, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon.

It will be partly cloudy and warm to hot, but fine in the east of Limpopo.

Partly cloudy and warm conditions can be expected in the North West, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the south.

It will be partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers over central and northern parts of the Free State, spreading eastwards by evening.

It will be partly cloudy and cold in the south of the Northern Cape, otherwise fine and cool to warm.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly.

The Western Cape will be fine to partly cloudy in the east, otherwise cloudy and cold to cool with light rain in the west and south-west.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong north-westerly, but moderate to fresh westerly along the south coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

Parts of the Eastern Cape will be fine and cool.

It will be partly cloudy in the extreme northern interior in the morning, otherwise fine and cool, but warm in places over the interior.

The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly.

In KwaZulu-Natal, it will be cloudy with mist/fog in places over the east at first, otherwise fine and warm, but hot over the extreme north-east.

It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be gentle westerly to south-westerly, becoming easterly to south-easterly in the afternoon, but moderate northerly to north-easterly in the extreme north.
