Monday's weather: Light snow over Drakensberg, hot and uncomfortable in Limpopo and Mpumalanga

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places in Limpopo and extremely hot conditions in the Limpopo Valley.

The South African Weather Service has also issued a weather advisory, warning of hot and humid weather which is expected to result in extremely uncomfortable conditions in the Limpopo Valley, as well as the Lowveld of Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

The weather in your province:

Gauteng will be fine and warm, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

It will be fine and cool to warm but hot to very hot in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga, becoming partly cloudy from the afternoon.

Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected along the escarpment, but scattered over the southern Highveld.

In Limpopo, it will be fine and hot to very hot but extremely hot over the Limpopo Valley, becoming partly cloudy in the west from the afternoon.

The North West can expect partly cloudy, windy and warm conditions , but hot in the extreme northeast, clearing from the west during the evening.

The Free State will be warm in the extreme northeast, otherwise partly cloudy, windy and cool with isolated showers and thundershowers, but scattered in the extreme east, where it will be cloudy.

It will be partly cloudy and cool but warm in the northwest of the Northern Cape with isolated thundershowers in the extreme southeast in the morning.

It will become fine from the afternoon.

Temperatures will be cold in the south.

The wind along the coast will be fresh southerly becoming strong south-easterly.

The Western Cape can expect cloudy to partly cloudy and cool conditions with isolated showers in the east and along the south coast, abating in the afternoon.

It will become fine in the west and southwest from the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-easterly but fresh westerly to south-westerly along the south coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

It will be cloudy with isolated showers and rain in the Eastern Cape, becoming partly cloudy and cool, but cold in places.

Light snowfall is expected over the southern Drakensberg.

The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be partly cloudy to cloudy and cool but warm in the northeast. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected but isolated in the northeast.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh south-westerly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.
