Tips and tricks on how to deal with exam stressWATCH

Durban - More than 10 000 people were on Friday appointed to mark papers for the upcoming matric examinations in KwaZulu-Natal.

Education MEC Mthandeni Dlungwana issued letters of appointment for markers of hundreds of thousands examination scripts.

"The examination scripts will be completed by 171 480 candidates. Letters of appointment have been sent to 12 districts for distribution," the department said in a statement.

"The criteria for the appointment of markers generally are that they must be teaching the relevant subject in Grade 12, a minimum of five years teaching experience and have taught the subject for two of the last three years."

Matric examinations are set to begin on Monday.

"Marking will commence on 5 December 2016 and conclude on 15 December 2016.

"Schools will collect the results from district offices on the morning of 5 January 2017. They will then be asked to analyse the results and check for any errors, after which, candidates will receive their individual results."
