Murder case against ANCYL's Patrick Wisani postponed

2016-03-11 11:05

Johannesburg - The murder case against the ANCYL official who allegedly sjambokked his girlfriend to death has been transferred to the high court for his trial to start.

Patrick Wisani briefly appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Friday. His trial would begin in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge on April 25 and was expected to last until May 3.

Wisani allegedly killed his girlfriend Nosipho Mandleleni, 24, at a home they shared in Yeoville in September last year.

He handed himself to police two days later.

Wisani, the chairman of the ANCYL Joburg Inner City branch and a former member of the Yeoville Community Policing Forum, was out on R3000 bail.

Dressed in a grey jersey and a cream chinos, he seemed calm and left the court room in a hurry.
