A Ficksburg truck driver was totally bemused when he received a traffic fine for “operating a motor vehicle without a fuel tank”.

Japie Setosmi, 32, was on his way from Ficksburg to Harrismith at about 07:25 on December 12 when he was pulled over by traffic officials on the R26.

One of the cops fined him for a “smooth tyre” and claimed he “operated a motor vehicle without a fuel tank"
Setosmi was flabbergasted about the weird “violation”.
A laughing Setosmi said on Tuesday he didn’t know what the woman was thinking when she wrote out the R600 fine.

One thing is for sure though, he won’t be paying the fine.

“I was too surprised [about the fine] to ask her to explain and just took it and drove off. In any case, there is nothing wrong with the truck.
According to Setosmi his employer also found the whole incident amusing and told him to ignore the fine.
