Cape Town - Jaco Oosthuizen, 31, who appeared in the Paarl Magistrate's Court for the murder of Nicola Pienaar, 28, was denied bail on Tuesday.

Netwerk24 reported that Magistrate Diane Blaauw said Oosthuizen could not prove extraordinary circumstances to the court as to why he should be released on bail.

He also did not have a fixed address.

Oosthuizen is charged for allegedly burying Pienaar in a shallow grave in January.

Her uterus had been cut open and a foetus had been found outside her body.

Oosthuizen faces 11 charges including murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, vehicle theft, fraud, and the forgery of documents.
