Oil spill causes traffic havoc on N2 in Cape Town

2017-07-11 16:40

Cape Town - A large oil spill caused gridlocked traffic on the N2 outgoing on Raapenberg Road in Cape Town on Tuesday afternoon.

The city’s traffic spokesperson Richard Coleman said the N2 outgoing had been closed and all traffic was being diverted onto the M5 South.

"Due to the oil spill in the area we got a truck jack-knifed in that area as well and this is another reason for that road to be closed."

Two people were slightly injured. Motorists were advised to use alternative routes, including Klipfontein Road and Jan Smuts.
