Durban – One person has been killed and two others severely injured after a vehicle lost control on the R102 in Fairbreeze, north of Durban on Thursday.

IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst said the vehicle was travelling from Tongaat on the R102 towards Ballito when it lost control and hit three pedestrians.

"One of the patients was a male travelling on a bicycle while the other two were female. On arrival, IPSS paramedics attempted to resuscitate one of the females. Unfortunately, due to the extent of her injuries, she was declared dead on scene.

"The other two were transported to local hospitals for further treatment. The driver sustained minor injuries."
